Data license agreements are long, incomplete, and ambiguous and with more and more digital technologies being introduce into agriculture it is important to be informed of how your data is collected, used, disclosed etc. Which is why we encourage farmers to use Farmer PriAgent to read relevant sections of the data agreements
Farmer PriAgent uses Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques and an algorithm designed to extract relevant sections of the entered data agreement. Additionally, you can find data agreements that were manually analyzed by our research team, in which relevant sections have been carefully extract and presented to you in an easy to read format.
Dr. Dara is the Principal Investigator of Data Management and Privacy Governance research program at the University of Guelph. Dr. Dara is also the Data Strategy Director at the Ontario Agri-Food Innovation Alliance working on smart farm data management. Dr. Dara and her research team have built automated tools for evaluation, summarization, and analysis of online privacy policies and data license agreements.
Samira Yousefinaghani, PhD, is a Research Assistant at the University of Guelph. She has a background in information technology engineering and computer science. Her research interests include applied data science, machine learning and natural language processing. She uncovers stories in the data, builds predictive models, and algorithms to automate decision-making in health. She has authored eight manuscripts and presented her work via posters and presentations at national and international conferences.
Abdul is an ungraduated research assistant on the Farmer PriAgent Project. In 2019, he began his studies in Software Engineering at the University of Guelph. Abdul continues to develop his skills within computer science, with a recent background in web development. Abdul has worked on multiple software projects that provided experience working with NLP techniques, MySQL, Express.js, Nodejs, Flutter, Python, C and Java.
